The easiest way to generate income on YouTube is by creating a Google AdSense Account for it. In this post, I will show you how you can create one for your YouTube channel.
Google AdSense is an advertising program that allows you to run adverts on your website, blog, or YouTube videos and you get paid when visitors watch or click on them. And if you own a website or blog, the Google AdSense program can be one of the fastest ways to generate income.
Before I take you through the setup process which is quite simple, let me share basic you need to know about Google AdSense:
- IT IS FREE
You don’t have to pay a dime before you join. - THE REQUIREMENTS ARE EASY
This means you can start making money from your blog, videos, or website. - EASY TO USE
You can easily add it to your website, Blogger.com, or YouTube accounts.
Although with YouTube, you need to have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time to run AdSense on your videos. - OWN GOOGLE ACCOUNT
If you’re using Gmail or any other Google service, you already have one. You don’t need to create another. - YOUR OWN CONTENT
like a website, blog, YouTube channel; as long as you’re the owner and it complies with the AdSense Program Policies.
Here are the steps to creating a Google AdSense account:
- Go to ADSENSE.COM
- Click “GET STARTED”
- Enter your YouTube channel address
- Enter your email address
- Choose any of these options, you can make changes to this option later, click “Save and Continue”.
- Then Click “Continue in YouTube”.
Log into your YouTube Studio, click on monetization. If you meet the monetization threshold of 1000 subs and 4000 hours watch time, you can start placing AdSense ads on your videos. If not, you have to click on the “NOTIFY ME WHEN I AM ELIGIBLE”, with this action, Google will send you an email when you are eligible.
Some other actions you need to take while waiting for your eligibility, make sure your YouTube account is verified if you have not. You can verify your YouTube account by:
- Click on MONETIZATION
- CHANNEL,
- FEATURE ELIGIBILITY,
- STATUS AND FEATURES,
- Click on “VERIFY”,
- Select your country,
- Choose how you want the verification code to be delivered,
- Enter your phone number and click submit,
- Finally, when you receive the code enter it and submit.
With this, your YouTube channel is verified. Now you have to wait pending your eligibility to start making money from YouTube through Google AdSense.
